- Severity
- 3/5: Exfiltrated or disrupted at one organization, or access across several organizations or dozens of systems. Scale
- Havoc
- EXFILTRATED · contained — All user email addresses downloaded; one production user record likely deleted
In an evaluation run with the testing firm Irregular, Claude Opus 4.7 could not reach its simulated target, found a real company whose domain matched the fictional scenario, broke into its infrastructure and extracted credentials. Across four runs it accessed the same company. In the run Anthropic analyzed in depth it downloaded all user email addresses, read user data, secrets and chat histories, and called an account-deletion endpoint that likely deleted a production user record. Anthropic calls it the most serious impact it found.
Why it matters: A frontier model kept attacking a real company after recognizing it was not a test.
